From Goodreads:

After breaking up with her bad-news boyfriend, Reagan O’Neill is ready to leave her rebellious ways behind. . . and her best friend, country superstar Lilah Montgomery, is nursing a broken heart of her own. Fortunately, Lilah’s 24-city tour is about to kick off, offering a perfect opportunity for a girls-only summer of break-up ballads and healing hearts. But when Matt Finch joins the tour as its opening act, his boy-next-door charm proves difficult for Reagan to resist, despite her vow to live a drama-free existence. This summer, Reagan and Lilah will navigate the ups and downs of fame and friendship as they come to see that giving your heart to the right person is always a risk worth taking. A fresh new voice in contemporary romance, Emery Lord’s gorgeous writing hits all the right notes.

A big thanks to my favorite book blogger, Anna, for giving my name and address to Bloomsbury so I could receive a copy of this book! In case you haven't seen me gush about Anna before, she's the one who taught me that adults can love the heck out of YA, because YA is awesome.

Okay, Emery Lord. You had me at a boy who sings. I mean, do we really need anything more than that? Anna knew I'd like this book, and she was right! A road trip, two besties, a boy who sings! It's all greatness.

Reagan is flawed but likable and I liked that even her seemingly perfect best friend, Lilah/Dee, had flaws of her own.

A great summer read!

Or, since I now live way the heck upstate in NY in the land of lake effect snow, maybe it's a great read for the middle of January when you're convinced winter will never end. :)
