From Goodreads

Wilhelmina has a hundred identities.

She is a princess. When the Indigo Kingdom conquered her homeland, Wilhelmina and other orphaned children of nobility were taken to Skyvale, the Indigo Kingdom’s capital. Ten years later, they are the Ospreys, experts at stealth and theft. With them, Wilhelmina means to take back her throne.

She is a spy. Wil and her best friend, Melanie, infiltrate Skyvale Palace to study their foes. They assume the identities of nobles from a wraith-fallen kingdom, but enemies fill the palace, and Melanie’s behavior grows suspicious. With Osprey missions becoming increasingly dangerous and their leader more unstable, Wil can’t trust anyone.

She is a threat. Wraith is the toxic by-product of magic, and for a century using magic has been forbidden. Still the wraith pours across the continent, reshaping the land and animals into fresh horrors. Soon it will reach the Indigo Kingdom. Wilhelmina’s magic might be the key to stopping the wraith, but if the vigilante Black Knife discovers Wil’s magic, she will vanish like all the others

Jodi Meadows introduces a vivid new fantasy full of intrigue, romance, dangerous magic, and one girl’s battle to reclaim her place in the world.

I'm sure it's pretty easy to tell from the books on this blog that I'm a huge fan of Contemporary books; it takes a lot for a book from another genre to sneak in. That being said, I'll read anything Jodi Meadows writes.

As with most fantasy, it took awhile for me to get into this book, into Wil's world. But I definitely got there, a testament to some great world building. By the end of the book, I was fully invested and on the edge of my seat, anxious for the next book (and the novellas!).

BIO: Jodi Meadows lives and writes in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, with her husband, a Kippy*, and an alarming number of ferrets. She is a confessed book addict, and has wanted to be a writer ever since she decided against becoming an astronaut. She is the author of the INCARNATE Trilogy and the forthcoming ORPHAN QUEEN Duology (HarperCollins/Katherine Tegen).

*A Kippy is a cat.

HarperCollins is providing me with a copy of the book, but lucky for you, I pre-ordered it! So enter the rafflecopter for a chance to win your own copy.

I didn't just pick this song because I met Wolf Gang and they're awesome and talented and kind, and managed to not melt in the hottest club ever. And by hot, I mean like 110ยบ+. But check this chorus!

Well you told me last night that you think
About how you and I met in the spring of our lives.
You've regressed to the sting,
chasing your shadow in the mirror of the king.

Elizabeth Briggs' MORE THAN COMICS

More Than Comics (Chasing The Dream, #2)

From Goodreads:

They're friends online - but can they be more in real life?

Writer Tara McFadden has been friends with artist and drummer Hector Fernandez for years, long before his band became famous on reality TV – yet they’ve never met in person. They finally have a chance to connect offline when they’re both sent to Comic-Con to promote the graphic novel they collaborated on.

Hector's secretly been in love with Tara for as long as he can remember, and once they meet, she sees him in a new light. All the years of longing lead to an incredible night of passion after one of his concerts, but neither is sure if their online relationship can translate into a real life romance – or if this will ruin their friendship forever.

Over four crazy days at Comic-Con, Hector and Tara must decide if they want a future together. But when their story seems to be over, it’s up to Hector’s entire band to make sure he and Tara get their happy ending.
